Difference between products: The Jalapeno and the 5gh/s Miner are the same at this point. Those who ordered the Jally are guaranteed 4.5 gh/s + or - 10%. Those ordering the 5 gh/s Miner are guaranteed 5 gh/s + or - 10%. They ship 1-4 per box. The original case and power consumption was supposed to be smaller, so the price we originally charged was lower. With the new parameters, they cost more to make and ship.

Why wait so long to double staff: Our staff makes what we get everyday. If they build all they get everyday, doubling the staff is pointless. Now that more boards are coming daily we can build more each day with more people.

Why I don't tell you when you will get your product: I don't make predictions on this blog, because I don't know. When someone here does make a prediction it can be wildly off and then you are angry. We started by telling people when we thought the whole product line would be shipping and everything we thought changed in many ways. If I say I will arrive at work in 20 minutes and then there is an accident on the highway, I run out of gas, the passenger in my car chokes, there is a detour, my car stops running, etc. I may not make it in 20 minutes. We mapped out a plan to create an ASIC product, but having never driven that road before we did not anticipate the things that happened along the way. I do see that we are shipping more and more units everyday as the Production Manager irons out the kinks in our supply chain, but we have hiccups along the way. We depend on overseas manufacturers of parts, carriers that deliver to us (and to you), board manufacturers and many others. We have some parts air-freighted to us while the rest are coming by boat. Since we had to re-vamp our entire product line there are some parts that changed and in various stages of shipment. Recently, one key part was supposed to come in a box of 100. The box broke in shipment and FedEx delivered a broken box with only 20 parts in it. I appreciate all the posts telling us how to multi-source parts arriving at different times and that is what we are doing. The back-picture here looks very different from what you speculate is happening. And no manufacturer goes online to tell their customers about every detail of their production process.

Luxury of having our customers pay in advance: The customer decides whether he will take the offer of paying in advance and getting in line or not buying the product at all. If you don't want to pay up front and assume part of the risk of the production of the product, don't order from us. We have always stated that all sales were final unless we fail to make any product.

Some say we have shipped very few products: If you complain that we ship little and that the difficulty is rising rapidly, you just don't understand how this whole BTC thing works.

I know I haven't answered all your questions, but these are the ones I can answer right now.

im starting to understand it sounds like your shipping the asic to the big guys you shook hands with behind closed doors while us little guys get eaten up in the difficulty.

    Wait.

"With the new parameters, they cost more to make and ship."

I paid in November of 2012. How will this affect my order...?

Most objective, able minded people here understand this (and more) quite well. You (and Josh) seem to want infer these 2 items have a direct correlation - actually say "BFL has singlehandedly caused the spike in difficulty therefore we have shipped what we should have to customers", then prove it. Until and unless you do most will still consider you have shipped very little as compared to what you have promised to ship to this point (not compared to 0), as BFL's 'word' has no credibility.

Numerically show us how deep you are into regular pre-order customer orders. Show how much hashing power has been delivered to regular pre-order customers. And yes that would exclude 'insider' activity.

It won't. Thats why they raised the price for subsequent orders in April. I also have a November order, so you and I (and others from before the price rise) are in essence getting the product at a lower profit margin for BFL than later adopters. Seems fair to me given we waited longer than late adopters.

This has got the be the biggest [and most unjustified] middle finger I've seen a "business" give their customers.
I don't think BFL understands how the whole BTC thing works based on this comment. Customers who paid money up front ONE YEAR+ ago has been getting "two weeks, wait two weeks" since December 2012.

I'm sorry, I'll say it lol That isn't how BTC works.
Things were looking up a little bit. Singles have been 'finally' moving it seems and you claim MiniRigs are too. But, you go and then ruin it all by this garbage? Seriously? I hope they're cutting you a huge check of our money which we gave upfront. Savor it.

Ok at least we got one new bit of data, they are dealing with supply chain issues everyday, they run out of stuff daily. So currently they are out of some part to build Jalapenos and Singles if you believe Jody

No, her point was that the huge difficulty rise proves they are shipping significant amounts. The total amount of BFL production was projected at 640-800 Terahash way back when. If you seriously didn't expect a difficulty rise, and you thought you were gonna be the only guy in the world with a 4.5 Gh jally chugging along on 2 million difficulty, then ain't no helping you.

Your arrogance towards your customers is absolutely unheard of, your lack of empathy for the people that are responsible for keeping you employed is palpable.

After the way so many people have treated Jody, do you really blame her? Seriously? Go back over the comments on all the blog entries and think what you'd feel towards the people saying it afterwards.

She wrote it, not as if anyone put a gun to her head and forced her to write these things. Forgive me if I hold people that work for a company responsible for what their company does.

+1 Jody. Some confuse "arrogance" with a lack of their own due diligence.

To me, this would actually seem like BFL is trying to take sole credit for the difficulty rise as them shipping product... which completely neglects to take competing products into consideration.

Instead of "the difficulty is rising because of us and what we ship", to me, it looks more like "we're still struggling to hold to what we said we could do, and our competition is beating us to the punch".

As of Friday at noon, I'm hashing with 1/3 of my 3 TH order on BitMinter. Thanks BFL! Looking forward to getting the rest.

I've told the naysayers for the last year that they'd deliver, without a doubt...Just a question of when.
